Business Terms

Terms for UK businesses buying and sharing SunStory reports.

Last updated: 10 October 2026.

These terms apply when a business buys or uses SunStory through an organisation workspace. The business ("you") contracts with Cruth Labs Ltd ("we"). Personal purchases are covered by our consumer terms.

Who we are and who may buy

Cruth Labs Ltd sells and supplies SunStory business offers. We are registered in Scotland under company number SC869947 at Suite 2/3, 48 West George Street, Glasgow, G2 1BP. Our VAT registration number is GB507959356. Contact support@sunstory.co.uk. Stripe processes business payments and invoices; we remain responsible for applicable VAT.

You confirm that your business is established in the UK, has a GB billing address, meets any eligibility shown with its offer, and creates reports for UK properties. Anyone setting up billing or a subscription confirms they may bind the business and use its payment method. You are responsible for people you admit to the workspace. By admitting them, you authorise the actions available to them there, including any separately priced report purchases they confirm on your saved payment method.

Offers, payment and access

The offer shown before you confirm a purchase sets its price, any billing period, included usage, separately priced items, workspace limits, report access period and other offer-specific conditions. Those details form part of your agreement for that purchase or paid period. Business prices exclude VAT unless stated otherwise; the total and tax are shown before a charge. Creating a workspace, choosing an unpaid offer or saving a card does not itself buy a report or start a subscription. We charge for a separately priced report only when you confirm that purchase. An initial subscription charge requires your confirmation; later renewals are charged automatically at the interval shown with your offer until you cancel renewal.

Unused included usage expires at the end of its paid period unless the offer says otherwise. Cancellation stops the next renewal at the end of the current paid period. We show the timing and any estimated charge or credit before you confirm a plan change. A completed report remains available for the access period shown before it was funded, measured from successful generation, even if you later change or cancel a plan, subject to payment status and these terms. Reducing a plan does not itself delete existing reports or workspace records, although new limits may restrict their use.

Using and sharing reports

SunStory models likely sunlight and shade using available data and calculated sun positions. It is not a survey, planning or right-to-light assessment, valuation, legal advice or guarantee of conditions. See About SunStory reports. Check important property decisions independently.

You may use and share your reports in your business, including work you do for clients, during their access period. Anyone with an active report link can view it, so choose whom you send it to. You are responsible for the material you add and share, and confirm you have the rights needed for us to display it in your reports. Do not use SunStory unlawfully or misleadingly, interfere with it, sell standalone access to the SunStory service without our agreement, or copy, scrape or republish substantial parts of the service or underlying data. We and our licensors retain rights in the software, models and source data.

Problems and liability

We may temporarily suspend SunStory for maintenance, security or circumstances outside our reasonable control, or discontinue all or part of the service. We will give reasonable notice where practicable. If we discontinue a service, we will stop its future charges and provide a fair, proportionate refund for affected prepaid service we cannot supply.

If a paid report is unavailable or materially different from what was described, contact us. We will investigate and, where appropriate, repair or regenerate it, restore an included allowance, or refund the affected charge. For a material failure of a paid monthly plan, we will consider a fair credit or proportionate refund. Delivered periods are otherwise non-refundable unless the law requires a remedy or we agree one. We may reasonably restrict access for non-payment, security, unlawful use or third-party rights; a full report refund normally ends that report's access.

We do not promise uninterrupted service, an error-free model or a particular commercial result. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Otherwise, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost business opportunity. Our total liability under this agreement is limited to the greater of £1,000 and the fees you paid us for SunStory in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This does not reduce charges you expressly authorised. A different limit applies only if we agree it in writing.

Business data

Our privacy notice explains our own use of personal information for accounts, payments, security, support and analytics. For personal information in content you supply for business reports, you are the controller or authorised to act for one, and we act as your processor or subprocessor. You are responsible for lawful instructions, submission and sharing.

These processing terms apply automatically. We process that content on your documented instructions, including your use of SunStory and the supplier authorisation below, to generate, host, display and support reports while providing the service and until the content is returned or deleted. It may include property details, report titles, listing links, branding and contact details relating to property owners or occupiers, clients and staff. We will tell you if we believe an instruction infringes data protection law. If UK law requires other processing, we will tell you beforehand unless the law prohibits it.

We will restrict access to people bound by confidentiality, maintain appropriate technical and organisational security, and assist with individual rights requests, security obligations, breach notifications, impact assessments and regulatory consultation, taking account of the processing and information available to us. We will notify you without undue delay after becoming aware of a personal data breach affecting this content, provide information needed to demonstrate compliance with these processing obligations, and allow and contribute to required audits and inspections.

You authorise AWS for hosting and content delivery and Google Workspace for support email as subprocessors where they handle this content, including transfers protected as described in our privacy notice. We will impose equivalent data-protection obligations, remain responsible for their performance, and give advance notice of intended subprocessor additions or replacements so you can object on data-protection grounds before they apply.

When this processing ends, we will, at your choice, return or delete the personal content and delete existing copies unless UK law requires retention. Requests are handled through support. Residual backup copies remain protected and beyond use until routine deletion. Cancelling renewal alone does not end hosting of reports within their purchased access period. We may retain separate customer and transaction records necessary for accounting, support, legal obligations or claims as controller.

Changes and law

We may update SunStory, its offers and these terms. Changes to offers or terms apply to future purchases. If a material change will affect an ongoing subscription, we will give reasonable notice before the next affected renewal and an opportunity to cancel that renewal. We will not materially reduce the core access already purchased for a report during its stated access period without a fair remedy. These terms are governed by Scots law, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction over disputes arising from this business agreement.
