About SunStory reports
Last updated: 7 October 2026.
This page is for everyone who opens a SunStory report, including people who receive a link from a purchaser or an estate agency. Buying terms apply to the person or business that made the purchase; opening a link does not make you that purchaser.
What a report shows
SunStory is an interactive model of likely sunlight and shade for a selected UK property. It uses available mapping, building and terrain data, a selected location, and calculated sun positions. You can explore different dates and times. A preview or saved report may include user-supplied changes to the model.
Source data, building shapes and heights, trees, boundaries, local conditions and modelling assumptions may be incomplete or different from what is on site. SunStory is an aid to understanding; it is not a measured survey, planning assessment, right-to-light assessment, valuation, legal advice or guarantee of sunlight. Check important decisions with a suitably qualified professional and, where useful, an on-site inspection.
Shared links
Anyone with an active report link may be able to open it. The person or agency sharing a link should decide who receives it. A consumer report is currently available for 30 days from payment; a successfully generated business report is normally available for 12 months from generation. The report page shows its own expiry where available. Access can end sooner after a refund, payment reversal or exceptional support restriction.
For an agency report, the agency can change its saved report details, model edits and branding. Those changes appear on the same shared link. Your own experiments in the viewer do not change the agency's saved report.
Use and questions
Please do not scrape or republish substantial parts of the service or its underlying data, interfere with it, or present a SunStory as a formal professional assessment. The purchaser's applicable terms describe the rights granted for personal or agency use.
For a question about the property's listing or why an agency shared a report with you, contact that agency. For a problem with the SunStory model or access, email support@sunstory.co.uk. Our privacy notice explains how we handle information about report viewers.
