SunStory MCP API Terms

Terms for personal, noncommercial use of the free SunStory MCP API.

Last updated: 15 October 2026.

These terms apply only to the SunStory MCP API. The SunStory website and its other products have separate terms. By using the API after having an opportunity to read these terms, including through an assistant you authorise, you agree to them.

The API is provided by Cruth Labs Ltd, registered in Scotland (SC869947), at Suite 2/3, 48 West George Street, Glasgow G2 1BP. Contact support@sunstory.co.uk for support, complaints or business enquiries.

Using the API

The free service is for personal, noncommercial use. Using a paid AI assistant for personal purposes is allowed. Business use, including integration into a commercial product or work for clients, requires our written agreement. Contact us about higher-volume or advanced use.

Automation is welcome. Respect request limits and retry guidance. Do not bypass access controls, deliberately overload the service, use it unlawfully or misrepresent its results.

You may save and share results for personal use. Keep any supplied attribution and licence notices. Third-party data remains subject to its own licence.

The MCP API privacy notice explains how we record and use request information, including full postcodes and exact coordinates. Your assistant provider has its own terms and privacy notice.

Understanding results

Sun calculations are estimates. They do not account for weather or shadows from buildings, trees or terrain, and are not professional advice or a guarantee of direct sunlight. Postcodes identify an approximate area, not a particular property. Check important decisions independently.

Availability and changes

We provide the API with reasonable care and skill, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may limit requests or suspend access to address misuse or security risks.

We may change the service or these terms for technical, security or legal reasons, or discontinue the free service if we cannot sustain it. Where practicable, we will give reasonable advance notice of material changes. Revised terms apply to future use after notice, without affecting existing rights.

Responsibility and disputes

We are responsible for reasonably foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for unforeseeable loss or business losses from use outside the permitted personal purpose.

Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

Scots law applies and Scottish courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction. This does not remove any mandatory consumer protections or rights to bring proceedings where you live.
